Everest Base Camp Trek (12 days) itinerary is one of the best day to day walking around five to six hours every day start as soon touch down the Lukla air script.
After guiding more than a decade in Everest mountain region, we realized 12 days Everest Base Camp Trek Itinerary will one of the perfect and helpful for all trekkers who planning to do the Everest Base Camp Trek without altitude sick to complete their bucket list holidays walking above the five thousand meters to five thousand five hundred fifty meters (5000m-5550m) walking slowly and climbing four hundred meters to six hundred meters (400m-600m) every camp. We have designed this itinerary from Lukla to Everest Base Camp eight days (8days) to reach EBC and extra 2 days rest or acclimatization days in Namche Bazar 3440m and Dingboche 4350m.After summated the EBC (5364m) and Kalapathar Peak (5545m) on day nine (Day:9) we trek back down to Pheriche valley.
Tentative itinerary day by day
Day 1 (One): A dramatic and adventure mountain viewing flight to Lukla, thirty five minute (35minute) from the vibrant Kathmandu Domestic Airport.Where we stretch our legs and continue a short hill down for an hour and carry on the Phakding village high above the Milky River (Dudhkoshi Khola. Our first day walking is just around 6-7km from Lukla to Phakding approximately 3-4 hours.
Day 2 (Two): Today morning we have our first breakfast at the lodge, tea-house with hot beverage start trek to Namche Bazar (3460m) walking beside the river crossing several times and climb steeply after Hillary Bridge.Climbing Namche Bazar sometime could be a light headache due to steep climbing and take more time to adjust our body in this altitude climbed 800m to 900m from the Phakding.Today walking take around 5-6 hours from Phakding.if you start your trek early in the morning then reach Namche Bazar at lunch time round 1pm.if you would like to make easy and walk slowly than better to have a lunch Monjo a beautiful village at check point and enjoy the day, anyhow we have an extra day to explore around the village or hike Everest View Point Hotel.
Day 3 (Three): Today is day of acclimatization or rest, we have options: explore around to hot local market, climb to Sagarmatha National Park Headquarter either hike Everest View Hotel 400m above the town. We highly recommend climb high and sleep in low for better adjustment before go high altitude.
Day 4 (Four): On day four our guide will brief you to walk slowly (bistarai-Bistarai in Nepalese) and take rest along the way and enjoy the best views leaving Konde mountain range behind the Namche and looking eye touching views to Amadablam, Kongtega, and Nuptse with top of the world Mount Everest (8848m) on the background.Toyou will enjoy first two-three hours walking and finally another tuff walking to Tengboche Monastery (Buddhist Temple).From Namche the trail gradually go around and down to River (3300m) than to top of hill (3900m).Today we will trek approximately 5 hours overnight at lodge and join worship ceremony(Puja) around 4pm at monastery before dinner.
Day 5 (Five): On day five, we trek more higher and some time possibility light headache and hard to sleep 4400m at night time.from Tengboche Trail decent to River via deboche and gratualy go up hill to pangboche Village with option lower ot Upper Pangpoche village. Views are better from Upper Pangpoche to Dingboche via visiting monastery if you interested in Himalayan culture. We stop a lunch break at Somare just three hours Tengboche from another 2 hours to camp. Overnight at Dingboche the last Sherpa village in the region.
Day 6 (Six): Second Rest Day, options explore around the villages or climb to Nagarjun hill 5500m above the Village for best view of Makalu Peak,Amadablam, Island Peak with Lhotse Shar.
Day 7 (Seven): Today we walk slowly as possible and take rest and keep drinking water at list three liter per day before gain Lobuje hotel camp (4900m).To reach this camp takes around 5 hours but highly recommend to walk slowly in six or seven hours for better sleep nearly 5000m of sealevel.Ask your guide if you any sign of altitude sick, loss appetite, dizziness, increasing headache. lost the test of food.
Day 8 (Eight): Today early in the morning breakfast, we trek to Everest Base Camp (5464metter) via leaving our heavy bag pack overnight back to Gorakshep (5180m)where we sleep. This is a day of your goal to reaching Everest Base Camp. Walking 6-8 hours in high altitude of 5000m.
Day 9 (Nine): Early in the morning after hot tea or coffee ,we climb Kalapathar Peak (5545m) around three hundred meters from Gorakshep.this is one othe hardest climbing of the trek to unleash you dream looking mount Everest with Nuptse, Lhotse, Pumori and much more. After viewing the Everest Himalayas in touching distance, we rapidly down to Gorakshep take breakfast grab our luggage back down to Pheriche on same day.Today also long day of walking in high altitude but no problem due to going down.
Day 10 (Ten): Easy downhill to Nacmhe Bazar for a hot shower after few days with shower in the mountain.six to Seven hours walking down hill for last two days could be pain in the knees better walking slowly too.
Day 11(Eleven): Final day of the trek and last downhill from Namche and a short climbing Lukla, approximately 6-8 hours and can walk fast if you like and no need to worry about the altitude sick.
Day 12(Twelve): Reserved day or flight back to Kathmandu. Trekking in the Everest region Himalayas weather changes every minutes and some time a domestic flights delayed or even cancelled for next day. please make sure you have an extra days after trek if you planning to do this adventure journey with us
