Everest Base Camp Trek offers a thrilled mountain culture of Nepal!

Everest base camp trekking is a journey of a lifetime, to be honest! It will take you at the footstep of the highest peak of the world – the gorgeous Mt. Everest, the 8848 meter-high wonder that has attracted innumerable trekkers and mountaineers from all over the world since decades.

Mt. Everest Base camp tours is indeed one of the most fascinating adventures. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime odyssey that changes the very perception of life forever. So if you are ready to take up the challenge, pick up your hiking boots, get the gadgets you would need to fight the odds of the Himalayan trail, pick up a root map and set off!

Your epic trail will start as you land at Lukta, the highest airport in the world. From the airport, you begin your walking trail through the Himalayan hamlets, through rolling meadows, and cultivated farmlands of barley and potatoes, till you reach the capital of Khumbu at the Namche Bazaar.

After completing 5,364 meters of Everest Base Camp Trek Cost you need to stay back at Namche Bazaar till you get acclimatized with the altitude and the low oxygen level. This is important, as from here on as you scale more heights the air is going to get thinner and thinner.

From Namche Bazaar, your journey continues through the Chola Pass till you reach the Gokyo Lake Valley, which is a paradise on earth, to say the least. You can pay a visit to Tengboche Buddhist monastery en route to the valley. The monastery is the oldest of its kind in the entire region. You can enjoy some interesting interactions with the monks of the monastery while enjoying their customary drink of butter tea!

From this point, the Himalayan Alpine region starts, with vegetation getting lesser and lesser. The beauty of your trail changes with every step, which will leave you virtually spellbound. As you trudge along, you find yourself practically encircled by the majestic peaks towering up against a crystal clear heaven up above! They include Mt. Amadablam, Mt. Lhotse, and then – the colossal EVEREST standing up tall – like an indomitable emperor.

As you continue the trek, which sometimes takes you through the melting glaciers, you get at an altitude of 5545 meters atop the Kalapathar, from where you can catch a 360 degrees breathtaking panoramic view of the Everest from close quarters.

The hiking distance that you have to cover in the trek is more or less 8 to 9 km, which comes to around 5 to 7 hours of trekking per day. You have to be mentally and physically prepared to take up the challenge. If you are planning such a trek, you need to do some homework by doing some physical exercises that will make you fit for one of the most memorable journeys of your lifetime.

Manual Note

-Please Note: Information provided above regarding the time needed to complete the trek and the distance covered is entirely based on a general idea.

For those who are willing to spend more days in the Nepal Himalayas, we at Nepal Base Camp treks have an optional trekking package with similar amenities. It is a 16-day package that suits best for those with a more relaxed trekking itinerary.

Words of Caution: The flight to Lukla, the trek route and the journey back to Kathmandu might at times be marred by inclement weather and cloudy, overcast conditions as an abrupt change in the climate is a regular phenomenon of the entire region. Hence, the flight timings and the tour itinerary are subject to last minute changes or delays or even cancellation for a day or more.

However, one good sign is that these phenomena do not occur too frequently during the top pre-monsoon (February to April) and post-monsoon (Late September to December) seasons.

However, it is advisable that due to this probability you have some extra days in your kitty. In case the weather gets too bad, you have the option of changing your ticket, or availing chartered helicopter services, though that will bear an extra cost.
