Just don your hiking boots, pack a map and compass, clad yourself right and set off over well-marked trails once tread by legends who gambled with their lives to summit Mt. Everest. This epic journey begins with a great sky-tour to Lukla, the world’s highest airport, & on touchdown, we embark on a continuous walk from village to village with truly friendly inhabitants who welcome us warmly all the way. Our hike wades through cultivated farmlands of potatoes and barley till we crash into the capital of the Khumbu [Everest region] at Namche Bazaar where we have enough time to acclimatize & get used to the thin air which we must be ready for as we go higher. EBC via Chola Pass Gokyo Lake Valley also More Attractive scenery.  This follows with a visit to the amazing Buddhist monastery of Tengboche, the oldest monastery in this region as we have some interesting interactions with the monks & enjoy their butter tea which is a delight in this region.

From here on we go into high alpine region as the vegetation gets less due to the cold but we are not short of landscapes that make the heart skip a beat with fabulous views of famous peaks that include Amadablam, Lhotse & Everest as we hike the trails till we reach base camp & view melting glaciers that’s a worry for the local folks in this region trekking in Himalaya.

Breathtaking climbing peak Kalapathar 5545m where we catch 360 degree panoramic views of Everest real close-up, its like as if we can touch it; finally we head down to camp for some piping hot tea/coffee & a delicious hot breakfast after which we make a beeline backtracking to Namche & then Lukla for our flight to Kathmandu & a warm soft bed at our hotel.

The normal hiking distance to is something like 8/9 km which works out to be 5-7 hrs per day & most hikers are up to it, but being mentally prepared with some physical exercise at home can help you go a long way in enjoying your trip to Everest Base Camp Trek. Nepal Base Camp Treks will handle the rest & give you a trip to remember for one hell of a long time to come…

Manual Note

-Please Note: Above trip hours and distances are approximately & absolutely for the general idea only.

If you have more days to spend in Nepal Himalaya, then Nepal Base Camp Treks also has an optional trek package with the same amenities. The 14 days package trek to EBC is the same and suited best for more relaxed hikers.

-Remark - Trekking to Everest Base Camp and flying to Lukla and return back to Kathmandu some time clouds and turbulent weather changes is a regular phenomenon along the Everest range. It is thus possible that domestic flights from Kathmandu to/from Lukla may have to be delayed for a few hours or even canceled for the next day or more.

-Fortunately, this does not happen frequently during the peak seasons of September - April but you need to plan extra or reserved days for this possibility. In case of bad weather, you would like to change a ticket or chartered helicopters will be an additional cost.
