We walk through the beautiful forest of pine today. And our walk leads us along the Dudhkoshi River bank through many suspension bridges. We will be crossing Hillary Suspension bridge which is one of the famous suspension bridges in that region. Passing through the settlements of Benkar and Monjo, we eventually arrive at the entrance to the Sagarmatha National Park. We still have a last village of Jorsale before reaching Namche. Following the trail ascending through the forests and bridges and overlooking the beautiful views of Mount Everest, Lhotse and Nuptse, we continue our journey towards Namche. Namche is the gateway to Mount Everest and is also the main trading center of the region. We check into the guesthouse and stay there overnight lodge.

Day 05: Acclimatization at Namche Bazaar
Today is going to be a rest day at Namche. But, as our Health Experts suggest, we need to stay active and moving during the rest days instead of being idle. Hence, we either take a day hike to Thame or visit Khunde for purpose of proper acclimatization. We can even stay at Namche and explore the Bazaar itself. You can visit the Tourist Visitor Center near the Headquarter of Sagarmatha National Park where you can observe an assortment of things which are related to the First Everest Climbers and Sherpa Culture. We stay overnight at a lodge.

Cho La pass is another show up for this Trek and today is going to be the toughest day for us. We have to start early in the morning. Actually the pass is not difficult in itself but it is steep and involves a glacier traverse on the eastern side. So, we need to be careful this day. The awesome views of Amadablam over a range of mountains on the south along with Cholatseon the west and Lobuche East and Baruntsecan be enjoyed. We then trek to Dzonglawhich is another beautiful place with a complete view of Cholatse, Amadablam, and Lobuche. We stay overnight at a very basic lodge.

Day 13: Trek from Lobuche to Gorakshep (5170m) to Everest Base Camp (5364m) and return back to Gorakshep – 8 Hours Today is going to be another big and difficult day trek along the Khumbu Glacier and up to the Everest Base Camp. Day 15: Trek from Pheriche to Tyangboche and then to Namche (3400m) – 6 Hours
From Pheriche, we take slightly different route down to Orsho today. We reach Pangboche where you can explore the oldest monastery in the region. The monastery is said to contain the scalp and bones of abominable snowman Yeti. We leave Tyangboche Monastery and finally arrive at Namche. We stay overnight at a lodge.

Day 16: Trek from Namche to Lukla – 7 Hours
From Namche, we return back to Lukla. With this, we mark end of our trekking. We stay overnight at lodge.

Day 17: Flight from Lukla to Kathmandu
We get the scheduled morning flight to Kathmandu from Lukla. The flight is going to be very scenic and adventurous. On arriving Kathmandu, you can take your time to go for your last minute shopping or you can choose to explore the city even more. We stay overnight at a hotel.

Trip Introduction

On 18 days Everest Base Camp Chola Pass Trek we experience the astounding iconic mountain views including Mount Everest and the glimpses of the life of the world famous Sherpa people (the climbers) after entering Sagarmatha National Park,a highest world heritage tour site of high altitude Himalayan Buddhist monasteries before accomplishing our unleash goal-reaching Everest Base Camp of the world's tallest peak ,Everest. Trip to the popular Everest Base Camp also provides us the lifetime opportunity to embark on an epic journey that Tenzing Norgay and Sir Edmund Hillary set off to in 1953.

Our 16 days itinerary of Everest Base Camp Trek is designed for those trekkers who are in good physical shape with good health. Some time if you wish to take much challenge and trek off the beaten trail, then Everest Base Camp Trek to Gokyo Lake valley via alternative Chola Pass would be ideal. Another option for trekkers with limit experienced time would be 14 day Everest Base Camp

We will be staying at Hotel International Guest House,a 3-star hotel in Kathmandu; and teahouses during the trek. All accommodations are on twin-shared basis during the trek. Twin sharing or Single supplement will be served in Kahmandu.

Nepal Base Camp Treks will arrange rooms with attached washrooms; however, teahouses in some places only have shared washing and toilet facilities. Also note that single rooms are readily available in Kathmandu and the trekking regions at lower elevation but it might be difficult to find them at higher elevations.

  • Meals
  • All menu selected meals will be provided during trekking while only breakfast will be available in Kathmandu. There will also be welcome dinner with typical cuisine and Menu selected farewell dinners. While on trek, we have breakfast and dinner in the same tea-houses/lodges we spend the night and lunch on our way to the next destination. Nepalese, Tibetan, the more common continental and Indian cuisines are common choices in the menu.
  • Physical Condition & Experience Requirements
  • 16 days Everest Base Camp Trek is a moderate for those travelers who can walk up to 6-7 hours (10-15km) a day on an uphill and downhill trail will find this trek fulfilling. It is best that we prepare ourselves for the Everest trek by morning jogging and 1 hours exercising regularly at least a month prior to the start of the trek. Trekking to the Everest Base Camp should be relatively easier for those who have experience walking/trekking in a high altitude environment. Past hiking experience would be an asset but no technical skill is required for this trip. It is also important that we consult our doctor. Participants with pre-existing medical conditions such as heart, lung, and blood diseases should inform Himalayan Glacier before booking the trek.
  • Best Time to Travel to Everest Base Camp Trek
  • The best time to trek to the Everest Base Camp is spring (March to May) and autumn (October to first week of December). The temperature is moderate in these seasons and guarantees amazing panorama views through the trip. Although this trek can be undertaken during winter, the cold temperature might not be suitable for everyone.
