Khumbu Municipality entrance or local permit

This is a new permit which is urged by the local government from the 1st of October 2018. The cost of this local permit is the same for all the trekkers. And in this local permit vat is not applicable. This is one of the first permits where you will require before beginning your Everest Base Camp trek. It is very necessary to take an entrance permit to enter the Khumbu region. The cost of the Khumbu Municipality entrance permit is NRP 2000 per person.

Sagarmatha National Park Permit

Sagarmatha National Park is situated at a high altitude and this is one of the finest national parks. This national park is listed as a world heritage site for many decades. The national park is the home of many rare wild animals like rare panda, snow leopard, Himalayan black bear, and musk deer. The route for the Everest Base Camp Trek goes through the Sagarmatha National Park. The cost for this national park permit is like this:

  • For Foreigner NRP3000 per person with 13% vat
  • For SAARC Country NPR 1000 per person with 13% vat
  • For Nepali NPR 100 per person with 13% Vat

Trekking Information Management of System (TIMS)

For the Everest region, the government of Nepal has canceled the TIM card.  The cost of a Green Card is USD 20 per person and the cost of a Blue Card is USD 10 Per Person. To get a blue card you need to apply for Local Trekking Agencies in Nepal.
